Ricoh MP 305SPF and 4 C – Series Printer Models Launched by OEM
While Ricoh may be making a foray into the world of 3D printing, that doesn’t mean that the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) is ignoring its core industries. The opposite is true, in fact. Ricoh has just added no less than five new printer models to its existing product catalogue. The foremost of these is the Ricoh MP 305SPF, a multifunction printer that is designed to give users as much flexibility as possible within a single device. For instance, the Ricoh MP 305SPF is a device that makes A3 size (279.4mm x 431.8mm) printing possible for businesses without requiring them to compromise on space and noise.
This is a significant feature since A3 printers tend to traditionally be huge and incredibly noisy. With this printer, Ricoh has introduced the low noise mode which can be used to print A3 documents quietly. The printer has been designed to have a smaller footprint than most A3 size printers in the market which further adds to user experience. In fact, Ricoh has focused on user experience and ease of use a lot when it comes to the Ricoh MP 305SPF.
A good part of this focus has gone into integrating its proprietary Workstyle Innovation Technology. This technology sits behind Wide Super VGA Smart Operation Panel that spans a good 256.5mm. The Workstype Innovation Technology is meant to simplify workflows as well as make the Ricoh MP 305SPF easier to use since it allows the setting of customised shortcuts. Notably, these shortcuts are built around gestures similar to the ones used on mobile devices such as pinching, swiping, and flicking.
The user interface of the Ricoh MP 305SPF also allows for documents to be scanned to multiple locations directly. Similarly, there are numerous easy to access options when it comes to printing, copying, and faxing. Mobile connectivity is also a feature of this printer model and the use of Ricoh’s Smart Device Connector app makes it wholly convenient to connect mobile devices to the printer or access information from the cloud. The Ricoh MP 305SPF boasts of a speed of 30 monochrome pages per minute (ppm) and has the ENERGY STAR and EPEAT Silver ratings.
Apart from the Ricoh MP 305SPF, the OEM also expanded its C – series of printers by adding four new models. The printer models that have been introduced include C3004, C3504, C4504, and C6004. The features that set apart the Ricoh MP 305SPF digital multifunction printer are also responsible for making these four new printers special i.e. the Workstyle Innovation Technology and the Wide Super VGA Smart Operation Panel. However, these aren’t the only features that these four new printers possess.
Each of these printers is capable of waking up from sleep in approximately one second with the use of an innovative motion sensor. The motion sensor, combined with a temperature detection system, allows the machine to identify when an individual has walked into the room and wake from its standby mode. It is also worth mentioning that these new printer models come with advanced administrative tools for Ricoh designed to put a limit to how much an individual can print on the machine as well as manage complete user access.
Sharp Introduces 4 Models to MX Advanced and Essentials Series
Sharp has expanded its mid to high volume colour document systems i.e. its MX series, by introducing no less than four new printer models. The new printer models are the MX-5070N, the MX-6070N, the MX-5050N, and the MX-6050N. With the addition of these new printer models, the total strength of the entire MX series of printers goes up to 10. Of the four new printer models added to the MX series, two (the 5070N and the 6070N) have been added to the MX Advanced series and two (the 5050N and the 6050N) belong to the MX Essentials series.
The existing Advanced series printer models i.e. the MX-3070N, the MX-3570N, and the MX-4070N were launched at the turn of the year in December, 2015 while the existing Essentials series printer models i.e. the MX-3050N, MX-3550N, and the MX-4050N were released at the beginning of this year. The MX Essentials series and the Advanced series of printer models share a lot of the features with the latter having a few extra. For instance, all four new models can print in monochrome and colour alike at a maximum print speed of up to 60 ppm.
Similarly, all four new printer models possess a touchscreen with an easy to use interface that has specific modes such as Easy Scan and Easy Copy. Furthermore, all the new printer models offer exemplary and complete mobile connectivity including compatibility with Air Print, Mopria, Android Print Service, Sharpdesk Mobile, and Google Cloud Print. As mentioned the Advanced series of printers have all these features along with some others.
A notable difference between the Advanced series of printer models and the Essentials series of printer models is that the former come with walk up motion sensors. The purpose of these motion sensors is to bring the printer to the ready position from the sleep position so as to make the process of printing, scanning, faxing, and copying quicker for the user. Scanning of these printers is also fast as they can process 200 images per minute since their standard configuration includes a single pass duplexing Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). Finally, each of these printers incorporates the latest variant of the OEM’s proprietary Sharp OSA technology. The OEM revealed with the announcement that all the aforementioned new printer models have become available immediately with authorised dealers and distributors.
