The Office Jester… every office needs one to lead the fun at work
Allow us the latitude to be clichéd once in a while. There is an old world charm in using phrases, idioms, metaphors, and similes that are commonly known. However, instead of being clichéd in all our posts, we’ll just combine all our cliché quota into one post, which as you’ve no doubt figured out by now is this one. This will be something like The One aka Neo – all the anomalies (clichés) will be combined into one unit (this post). So, sit back and revel in this debauchery…
All work and no play makes jack a dull boy (cliché 1) which is precisely why having fun at work has to be one of the most important aspects of being happy in life. After all if you don’t have fun at work, then you won’t really love working and nothing is more important than enjoying what you do (cliché 2). Besides, when you’re down in the dumps (cliché 3) and need a pick me up (cliché 4), nothing fits the bill (cliché 5) better than having some fun at work.
Typically, what goes on in offices is an open secret (cliché 6) amongst the people there. There is drinking, partying, gaming, gossiping, flirting, and any number of other “fun” things. This is the “usual”.
Still, every once in a while people get really creative when it comes to having fun at work. And since, you can’t please everyone (cliché 7) and there’s no time like the present (cliché 8) to really take the bull by its horns (cliché 9), perhaps you should ditch the idea of ignorance is bliss (cliché 10) and learn some new ways of having fun at work. Here’s a video that illustrates some creative ways of bringing down the house (cliché 11) and pissing off the pope (cliché 12).
Having Fun at Work
Being on the edge (cliché 13) can really double your amount of fun at work. Anybody can sit around the fire (cliché 14) and talk his head off. Using stuff around you as props to have fun, however, requires a devious and innovative mind.
There are four examples of having fun at work in this video, three of which are races! Just imagine the unimaginable (cliché 15). Racing at work, using office equipment. Being destructive apparently can be quite fun especially if everyone around you goes along with you and you don’t have tattle tales around you.
So, which one will you be trying the next time your boss goes AWOL (cliché 16) – chair racing, table hurdling, chair rowing, or scooter racing? As the Jokes (yes, we mean that pun) would say “You choose…”
