Want to immediately reduce your printing costs?
Of course we all do… with the price of ink costing more than that famous black gold we use in our motor vehicles, you can bet we’d all like to find a way that would reduce our the cost of printing and make the cartridges last longer. Well you can do it right here and right now and not have to compromise on performance or quality.
Did you know you can actually cut printing costs just by choosing a different font when typing up something to print? Sounds a little crazy, but its true! Most of us have never really considered the cost implications of using a particular font, but believe me, getting this right will not only save you money it will also increase the longevity of your printer cartridges.
Usually the choice of font is usually down to what the writer’s aesthetic preference is or what particular one is the easiest to read. But if you take a careful look at the different fonts, you’ll quickly see there is a vast difference in the actual shape and volume and consequently the demand for ink needed to produce a particular letter font on the page to be printed. Take a look at these fonts below, they are all the same point size, in this case 12 just to show you the difference.
Which one will save you the most? A quick look here indicates Agency FB and Cambria would be the best and Blackoak and Rockwell the worst. Now of course, if you were typing in one of the bigger natural fonts like Rockwell or Blackoak, then you would reduce the size, but even when doing this, the density of the character would still be significantly higher than a naturally smaller visual font like Agency FB or Calibri and so will use more ink to produce. So next time you’re in your document software, consider changing your font. Just pull down the drop down menu of fonts and take a look, most programs show the actual style and the size of the font in relation to others. Have a go with a smaller thinner one and enjoy the savings.
Cheers for now
