New PANORAMA Product Line to Be Launched By Nilpeter at Labelexpo Europe This Year
Labelexpo is easily one of the largest exhibitions to be held in the world when it comes to the labelling and packaging industry. It is not only an exhibition but also an avenue for organisations in the labelling and packaging industry to launch their new products and display their products with full demonstrations of their capabilities. While Labelexpo is held in various countries, one of the more important ones is Labelexpo Europe.
Labelexpo Europe is due to be held at the end of September and the beginning of October this year. Moreover, this year’s Labelexpo Europe is expected to be a major destination for anyone involved in the labelling and packaging industry. What this means is that you’ll see a lot of product launches and introductions in the year relating to the labelling and packaging industry.
One of the first in line is Nilpeter and their whole new PANORAMA product line. Nilpeter is not using the Labelexpo Europe 2015 to launch a product but instead to launch a complete product line. The PANORAMA product line is expected to be one of the major exhibits in the Labelexpo Europe 2015.
The highlight of the PANORAMA product line will be Nilpeter’s DP – 3 UV Inkjet unit that can support up to five colours. This unit of the PANORAMA product line is a combination of advanced inkjet printing technology and Nilpeter’s own expertise and experience in web handling technologies. The five colour DP – 3 UV Inkjet unit is an integrated inkjet device that allows single pass digital printing from one supplier.
The unit is designed for those organisations that need quick turnaround of projects through short term setups. There are many benefits that the PANORAMA product line’s integrated devices bring to the labelling and packaging industry such as high end performance levels and uptimes that are much higher than industry standards.
Nilpeter has made the PANORAMA product line a reality by adapting a number of its existing modules to be suitable for the digital production process. These include small roll dual rewind, varnishing unit, length slitting, smart matrix stripping, QC die cutting system, varnishing unit, and web – in feed.
The PANORAMA product line can print up to a width of 322 mm or 12.67 inches while its wide web version can handle up to 350 mm. The speed of the PANORAMA product line is also formidable as it can print at speeds as high as 50 metres per minute. This translates to about 164 feet per minute. The unit can work with paper with thicknesses between 90 and 350 microns.
Combination of this speed and width limits means that the PANORAMA product line can generate up to 16.1 square metres per minute (173 square feet per minute). In terms of ink, the PANORAMA product line will be using high definition UV inks for CMYK printing and an opaque white ink for transparent substrates.
The DP – 3 print engine on the PANORAMA product line completes print jobs through single passes. The print engine contains piezo printheads which boast of 600 DPI capabilities along with 4 level grayscale imaging capabilities. The smallest sized droplets these printheads can create are 3 picoletres.
Domino Will Introduce New Modular Digital Inkjet Solutions at the Same Exhibition
Like Nilpeter, Domino Digital Printing Solutions is also looking to use the Labelexpo Europe 2015 as a launch pad for one of its offerings. The firm will be showcasing its new modular digital inkjet solutions to the labelling and packaging industry at the exhibition which will be held in Brussels in Belgium. Domino’s stand will be displaying four different units under the company’s digital inkjet solutions.
These will include the standalone N610i digital label press, the hybrid version of the N610i digital label press, and two versions of K600i digital print systems. During the display, the N610i digital label press will be displayed as not only a roll to roll label press but also in a hybrid format with digital system integration. This will be made possible by synergising the N610i digital label press with ABG Digicon 3. The ABG Digicon 3 will incorporate die cutting modules, varnishing modules, and flexo modules. The hybrid variant of the N610i digital label press can even include modules for foiling and display screens.
As per the Director of Domino’s Printing Solutions Division, Phillip Easton, the purpose of this display is to “highlight the digital hybrid modularity of the N610i”. He also stated that the hybridised versions of the N610i digital label press have already been made available to clients everywhere.
The N610i digital label press is a high productivity 7 colour digital label press anyways. The added modularity only makes it more attractive. The modularity of the N610i digital label press throws open multiple options for many users. This modularity allows the users to customise the machine according to their specific needs. Moreover, the modularity makes the machine flexible and capable of keeping pace with the changing operational identities of various organisations.
Domino’s display will also focus on its digital foiling solutions which will revolve around their K600i digital print modules. The K600i digital print modules will be combined with the GraphiMecc web inspection system.
Typically, inkjet foiling systems tend to use metallic ink to create that coveted foil like effect. However, that isn’t the case with Domino’s digital cold foiling solutions which utilise a real metallic foil. The use of the real metallic foil makes it easier for the end result to have better quality finish. Moreover, the metallic foil also makes it possible to use holographic and decorative images within the foil.
When talking about Domino’s displays at the Labelexpo Europe 2015, Easton also specified that the company has noticed a significant growth in the labelling and packaging industry since the last time Labelexpo Europe was held. This could possibly the reason why the strategic direction of Domino has shifted to focus more on the labelling and packaging industry in general and the Labelexpo Europe in specific.
