The Office Jester… every office needs one to sing the entrepreneur anthem when the boss is absent
There’s a lot that music can do for you. Music has the potential uplift a depressed individual, facilitate fitness goals, console when the chips are down, and even motivate, whether it is with reference to getting through something tedious or coming up with something creative. We have no qualms in saying that we rely heavily on music to get through our days, good or bad.
An anthem is simply music that is played in a situation so often that it comes to be associated whatever that action, individual, or organisation represents. Therefore, anthems can help you overcome any obstacles that may be in your way and achieve your objectives.
So, if you are an entrepreneur or harbour dreams of becoming one, then perhaps this video can turn into an entrepreneur anthem for you. However, we do warn you that you’ll have to take this entrepreneur anthem in the tongue in cheek manner that it was made with. This entrepreneur anthem isn’t some motivational master class that will inspire you to be the next Elon Musk. It may, however, draw out a little smile or even a chuckle from you and that will be okay.
Entrepreneur Anthem …. or Not!

We just had to share this entrepreneur anthem with you. We don’t care how many of you are entrepreneurs or how many of you want to be one. Moreover, we aspire to be entrepreneurs too so before you decide to chop our heads off consider the fact that this video didn’t make us bristle.
This is an entrepreneur anthem created by a third party service provider online called Only You Songs. What they basically do is take your lyrics and turn them into songs. Some enlightened soul must’ve sent them lyrics for a song named “Entrepreneur” which these guys decided to turn into a song (which we believe is worthy enough to be an entrepreneur anthem). The result is possibly one of the best examples of trolling we’ve ever come across.
The clincher, of course, is that not only can you use this song to troll your businessmen friends but also your bosses (please unequivocally consider our all content fictitious at this point). The song isn’t all that evolved. It’s more like a limerick but what a limerick it is. Just in case, you couldn’t make out the lyrics, here are the four main lines.
“Don’t need no college degree” – Carefully note the grammatically in error double negative in this sentence. We want to think that this is the artist’s carefully inserted hint at the lack of the college degree. Quite apt for most of those two pence entrepreneurs out there, no?
“I got my start on Etsy” – Admission time then: we hadn’t heard of Etsy before we came across this song. Some entrepreneurs, we’re going to be right? It’s highly likely that you know what Etsy is if you don’t let us enlighten you just the way we were enlightened just now. Etsy is an ecommerce website run on a peer to peer basis where you can find virtually any type of unique product to sell, whether handcrafted or factory manufactured.
“Take the money and run” – Kenneth Lay, take a bow. Tip your hat, Bernie Ebbers. Martha Stewart and Chung Mong Koo, why don’t you give us a duet! It’s the dream, isn’t it? To set up a company, make it grow, sell it, and buy an island to spend the rest of your life in some forgotten corner of the world? Well, that’s the legal dream. The illegal dream is to set up a company, cook the books to make it prosper, take multiple loans from the company, and run away!
This entrepreneur anthem is special in more ways than one. It can teach you to laugh at yourself (if you’re an entrepreneur) and others (if they are and you’re jealous with your lousy 9 to 5 job), inspire you to start a company (legally, we might add), and pick up a tune to sing in the bath (watch the soap suds).
