• The processing technology employed to create the final image with this type of printer cartridge is known as laser technology. The advanced laser mechanism is utilised with a photoelectric drum assembly and the toner powder from the cartridge to form the printed image. It does this by first applying a set of electrical charges across the photoconductor drum. The laser then neutralises these electrostatic charges in areas where no image exists. What is left is an invisible electrostatically charged image which then attracts oppositely charged toner particles to its surface to create a visible image. At that point, the paper is fed into the printer to meet the drum and then a reverse set of charges is applied which essentially pulls the image impression from the drum down onto the waiting paper. It then moves to a fixing assembly where heat and pressure permanently affix the toner onto the fibres of the paper. It then exits the printer ready for use.
