OEM Focuses On Workstyle Innovation Technology Again By Launching Ricoh SP C342DN & C340DN
Ricoh has been in the news with brand new launched for a number of months in the last few months. During this period, the Original Equipment Manufacturer has launched printer models such as the Ricoh AM S5500P 3D printer, the Ricoh MP 305SPF, the Ricoh C3004, the Ricoh C3504, the Ricoh C4504, the Ricoh C6004, the Ricoh MP CW2201SP, the Ricoh Pro 8220s series, the Ricoh MP C2004, and the Ricoh C2504.
However, the OEM has stepped up its game because it hasn’t waited a long time since its last release. It has quickly decided to launch two more printer models in the form of the Ricoh SP C342DN and C340DN. Like the two models launched immediately before, these will also feature Ricoh’s proprietary Workstyle Innovation Technology. The Ricoh MP C2004 and C2504 launched earlier this month, were also models that featured Workstyle Innovation Technology.
Through the incorporation of Workstyle Innovation Technology, the OEM has ensured that the Ricoh SP C342DN and C340DN conform to the modern, innovative styles of work that revolve around quick exchange and sharing of information. In a nutshell, Workstyle Innovation Technology will enable the Ricoh SP C342DN and C340DN to be compatible with most modern day software solutions while retaining their core function of high-quality colour printing. The same technology will also facilitate operations in hoteling and co-working scenarios.
The Ricoh SP C342DN is specifically designed for enterprise and large workgroup level functionality. It is rated to produce a maximum print resolution of 1200 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) along with a speed of 26 pages per minute. The Ricoh SP C340DN, on the other hand, is built for small businesses or start-ups and is capable of the same speed and resolution as its bigger brother.
The Ricoh SP C342DN boasts of a touch screen spanning 4.3 inches, which makes daily operations swift and efficient. The Ricoh SP C340DN, though, hasn’t been equipped with a touch screen. Instead, users will be able to leverage its four-screen LCD interface.
The most notable aspect of these devices, however, is that they can collaborate with multiple software solutions that are common today amongst individuals looking to collaborate and coordinate. This allows users to track costs and usage, introduce authentication measures into their existing set-ups, and even enhance security in other ways.
For instance, the Ricoh SP C342DN and C340DN are particularly accomplished when it comes to mobile technology. They both support USB and SD Card Direct printing, Wi-Fi Direct printing and printing through Ricoh Smart Device Print & Scan and Air Print. Other features of the Ricoh SP C342DN and C340DN include the presence of an Intel 1.46 GHz processor and a 2GB RAM.
OKI C542DN and MC573DN Launched to Expand OEM’s Smart Printer Portfolio
Synergy is something that all OEMs are focusing right now, in the market. OKI is also one of them. The OEM has launched the OKI C542DN and the OKI MC573DN to expand its highly successful Smart Printer Portfolio. The entire Smart Printer Portfolio boasts of the OEM’s open platform called OKI smart Extendable Platform or sXP. The incorporation of the sXP means easy integration and synergy between OKI printing devices and third-party software solutions.
For instance, sXP will allow the integration of OKI printing devices with third party software solutions such as YSOFT SafeQ, Ringdale FollowMe, Drivve Image, and Paper Cut. Furthermore, if the user has access to a developer, the accompanied developer kit can be used to create bespoke or customised software solutions and apps.
Essentially, this will allow print, copy, and scan commands through third party solutions. According to the OEM, this will reduce tedious, paper-centric processes which will, in turn, boost productivity and efficiency for users. The OKI C542DN and the OKI MC573DN join printer models such as the OKI ES9000 series, the OKI MB700 series, the OKI MC700 series, OKI MC800 series, the OKI MB562, and the OKI MB492 in the OEM’s Smart Printer Portfolio.
Between these printer models, OKI can now cater to the full gamut of business requirements ranging from desktops to divisions. The OKI C542DN is actually for the small workgroups. It is a colour printer that has many useful connectivity features. For example, the OKI C542DN can be used to make on-demand printing possible by creating a channel between its touch panel and mobile or cloud solutions. The same method can be used to connect to an existing pull printing fleet too.
Both, the OKI C542DN and the OKI MC573DN boast of a colour LCD touch screen spanning 7 inches. There are a couple of new features as well such as the optional Card Release or the standard Private Print. Apart from this, SENDYS Explorer LITE has also been provided with the printers at no extra cost. The SENDYS Explorer LITE is a document management software solution that can be used to target entire departments or even industries for various functions such as printing, uploading to the cloud, distributing, converting to search-friendly platforms, and capturing.
A good example of this would be the quick scanning and indexing of documents at the point of first contact. The same document management software solution will allow an administrator to manage scanning, copying, or printing tasks of any and all users.
The core functions of the OKI C542DN and the OKI MC573DN are also impressive. Both the printers can generate prints at a maximum resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. Their maximum print speed is to the tune of 30 ppm while their maximum paper handling capacity is 1410 sheets split into a 250-sheet standard paper tray, a 100-sheet multipurpose tray, and two 530-sheet optional paper trays. Automatic duplex printing is standard in the printers and they have 1GB RAM.
Moreover, both printers support Wi-Fi Direct which can make a huge difference in busy offices. Needless to say, like most modern day printers, the OKI C542DN and the OKI MC573DN are both compatible with Google Cloud Print 2.0 and Air Print.
