The Office Jester… every office needs one to welcome the undercover boss
There countless stories in multiple cultures about ancient or medieval kings who would climb down from their pedestals to mingle with their subjects in disguise. The logic was that doing this allowed those kings to stay in touch with their people, their needs, and their problems. The principle behind the show Undercover Boss is supposedly the same.
In the show, the boss decides to work as just another employee to learn more about his workforce and solve any problems that they may have in their personal lives through rewards and bonuses. The idea has always been sound.
However, the show has turned into some kind of a PR gimmick that businesses use to get their names out into the public and generate goodwill. So, Key & Peele decided to mock the concept of Undercover Boss. Before you click on that play button though, we want to warn you: NSFW!! But that’s relevant only for the sound, not the video.
The Undercover Boss from Key & Peele
Okay, so the main reason why we picked this video is that it is shot in the warehouse that isn’t all that different from our own. Apart from that, it is about work and Office Jester is indeed about work. So it all fits in, thank you.
This is a short video. There’s very little fluff in it which means that you need to be alert from the moment you press that red play button. The first notable action in the video is Joseph’s expression when Mark reveals that he is the President of the company.
For the rest of the video, you’ll hear one word again and again: “chopped”. It’s like Joseph is obsessed with the word. He uses it for people’s heads and his d$%ck again and again.
We can’t mention one of the craziest segments of the video here in words because it’s so graphic. Even so, we can link you to it with a very strong warning: Graphic Content. It’s at 1:56.
However, the best part of the video is when Joseph claims to have a “weird condition” that makes him “unlikeable”. This is a good mockery of Undercover Boss, if you aren’t all that queasy about explicit language.
On a side note, we are thankful that our boss hasn’t pulled a stunt like Undercover Boss in our warehouses yet (Psst! Don’t you go tell him, now). If he does though, there will be some interesting firecrackers, especially if he decides to ride in on his SBK.
